02/02/2011: at 11.28 (local hour) Simone Moro, Denis Urubko and Cory Richards have reached the summit of Gasherbrum II (8,035 m). The summit was conquered pretty fast, after only 22 days of arrival at Base Camp and it is the first winter ascent of the 13 th highest mountain on earth. The G II has been a destination for many expeditions but none in winter. For Simon this is the third success after Shisha Pagma (8027 m - winter 2005) and Makalu (8462 m - Winter 2009). As a demonstration of the great echo that has caused the accomplishment of Simone, there have been numerous articles published on the most important Italian and International media, during and after his success.
